Having learned from the greatest natural winemakers such as Marcel Lapierre and at Prieuré Roch, Philippe Pacalet has become an expert in indigenous yeasts and non-interventionist vinification. By creating a small wine trading business with 15 hectares of vineyards, he now markets 50,000 bottles a year according to his viticulture and production methods, always in the purest respect of tradition and in a natural manner.
Even though Philippe Pacalet is more commonly associated with Beaujolais and Burgundy, we mustn't forget—or underestimate—his Cornas cuvées from the Northern Rhône. His signature style is clearly present, with this Syrah showing a slight Pinot-like character, featuring delicate red fruits and white pepper. The palate is soft and smooth, offering violet aromas and very fine tannins. A surprising Cornas.
