8th generation at the head of Clos Rougeard since 1960, the Foucault Brothers sold the estate to a group of shareholders that includes the Bouygues Brothers, after Charly Foucault passed away in 2015. Located in Chacé (Maine-et-Loire), the property of 10 hectares follows strict organic rules (without any certification) since the 1960s, with minimal intervention during the winemaking process and long agings (at least 2 years). The wines produced before 2015 are some of the most sought after in the Loire Valley.
Brezé is a plot of 1.5 hectare in limestone with beautiful chenin grapes, expressing toasty notes, amazing minerality, and a lasting taste of honeysuckle and beeswax. One of the greatest, if not the greatest, white wine of the Loire Valley.
