The Estate
Produced at the famous Château Rayas owned by Emmanuel Reynaud, Fonsalette is an important estate with 10 hectares of vines, some forest, some agricultural land and olive trees. White and red wines of Fonsalette copy the Rayas style, where grape maturity matters and the silky texture is mindblowing. The red grapes are grenache, cinsault, and syrah, when the white grapes are grenache, clairette, and marsanne.
The Wine
About 10 years are necessary for Fonsalette to open, on red berries notes as well as tobacco. The texture is superb, with an impressive aromatic structure on moka, peony, and vine peach.
