The Estate
Located at the top of the most prestigious clay and astéries limestone plateau on the right bank of the Garonne, le Puy dominates the Dordogne Valley. At an altitude of 107m, it is the second highest geodesic point of the Gironde department. This position lent its name to the site as of Roman times ; le Puy means a high place, a podium or mountain peak.
Managed by the Amoreau family since 1610, this vineyard stands out for its biodynamic approach and commitment to natural practices long before they became a trend. The estate's unique terroir imparts remarkable finesse and depth to its wines. Having remained discreet for a long time, Château Le Puy has built its reputation through its dedication to pure wines, free from chemical additives, and traditional winemaking that enhances the expression of the terroir.
The international recognition of Château Le Puy took a major turn thanks to its appearance in the Japanese manga Les Gouttes de Dieu (Kami no Shizuku). In this highly successful series, which has influenced wine culture across Asia, one of the estate's wines is named the mythical "12th Apostle," an exceptional wine said to rival the world's greatest crus. This honor thrust Château Le Puy into the spotlight, sparking massive enthusiasm in Asia, particularly in Japan and South Korea. Since then, demand for its wines has soared, further enhancing its prestige among wine enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

Tasting
Deep garnet robe with copper highlights.
Highly concentrated fruity aromas of blackcurrant, musk and truffle.
In the mouth it is round and full with superbly silky tannins, a very dense texture and flavours of roasted chestnuts.
Long and exceptionally well-pronounced smooth final notes.
