Carriers of the centuries-old torch and driven by the same passion, Jeanine and André Chatonnet have associated their name with one of the leading wines of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation.
Combining their complementary skills to enhance the quality and reputation of the Chatonnet Vineyards, Jeanine, André, and their son Pascal have worked in synergy, following in the footsteps of the great Bordeaux families bound by the spirit of wine, to develop their family estates.
A Bordeaux oenologist, Pascal Chatonnet is primarily recognized for his scientific discoveries in the fields of winemaking and barrel aging, as well as his work on contamination by various chemical and microbiological pollutants. Pascal Chatonnet is also a renowned consultant who has worked discreetly since 1995 for some of the world’s most prestigious estates. Co-owner of the family estate, Vignobles CHATONNET, he has been managing the estate since 2008 and initiated its transition to agro-synergy in 2019.
A combination of the three best terroirs of Lalande-de-Pomerol, the La Sergue cuvée is a true sensory journey where each sip unveils an exceptional terroir. This wine offers a unique sensory experience, blending classic aromas of peony, blackcurrant, and raspberry with subtle notes of baked apple and aged dark rum.
On the palate, its firm attack and consistently enveloping volume reveal the perfect balance between three types of soils, three microclimates, and three emblematic grape varieties, vinified, aged, and blended with precision to express the very essence of the terroir and the vintage.
