The Cheval Blanc vineyard, formerly part of the Figeac estate, was transferred to the owners of Château l'Evangile before becoming a separate entity in the 19th century. Under the direction of Pierre Lurton, the estate has maintained its reputation for several years, including after its acquisition by LVMH in 2009. The new cellar, operational since 2011 and designed by Christian de Portzamparc, reflects the property's ecological commitment. Never dethroned from its status as Premier Grand Cru Classé "A" since 1954, Cheval Blanc nevertheless decided to withdraw from the classification in 2022.
For its dry white Bordeaux, Château Cheval Blanc adopts a meticulous approach: low yields, manual harvesting, fermentation in new oak. After clarification, the wine ages for 16-18 months in new barrels. The result is a rich aromatic complexity (citrus, pears, apples), with smoky, exotic (pineapple), floral (acacia) notes and a saline finish. Dense texture and energetic character promise exquisite culinary pairings.
