In 1955, the painter René Dürrbach buys a property called Trevallon between Arles and Avignon, in Provence, in the Northern part of the Alpilles mountains. The first vinyard is planted by René's son, Eloi, in 1973. Since then, no chemical whatsoever were ever used, the vines and the vinification process are conducted in the most natural way possible.
This blend of equal part Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon (highly unusual in Provence) is aged during two years before bottling (no filtration). A great scent of herbs, rosemary, and pepper, with a gorgeous fresh mouthfeel, superb tanins and a full body that make this wine totally legendary.
