The exceptional terroir of Château Haut-Marbuzet is perfectly located on slopes of gravel mixed with clay-limestone. Typically, 40% Merlot is used in the blends, which is quite unusual in this part of Médoc, giving the wine a velvety texture and a lot of sensuality. The Duboscq family, owners of the estate, have garnered a loyal following, with devoted defenders of this emblematic cru thanks to their meticulous approach to viticulture (manual and at high ripeness) and incredible precision in vinification (using concrete and wooden vats before aging for 18 months in new barrels).
Here is a Bordeaux that would captivate a Burgundy enthusiast. Awarded Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in June 2003, Haut-Marbuzet charms with its delicate aromas of red and black candied fruits achieved through highly precise aging. On the palate, the texture is sublime, velvety, never exuberant, and the fine tannins transport us definitively between Dijon and Beaune.
