The Domaine Labet is located at the southern tip of the Jura vineyard, in a region locally known as Le Sud - Revermont. Along with his brother Romain and his sister Charline, Julien Labet took over his father Alain's parcels.
The vineyards are now united under a single entity: Domaine Labet. The region, with its complex soils, is experiencing a new dynamic. Converted to sustainable farming practices, the domaine's vineyards are spread across small parcels, often with old vines, ranging from 15 to 80 ares. Julien is in charge of the winemaking, producing very distinct and expressive whites (all topped up, except for the vin jaune and the occasional Chardonnay under a veil), as well as some of the most remarkable reds in the region. Sulfur is used in minimal quantities, while maintaining balances that leave no room for criticism.
Cuvée made from 78 ares – Vineyard planted in 1967 and 1968.
- Altitude 280m – Summit of a hill forming a large southwest-facing plateau.
- Thin layer of red decalcification clay, on a base of Bajocian limestone slabs.
Aged on lees and in oak, Les Champs Rouges is a gem that could trick us into thinking it's from Burgundy. Although it is neither fined nor filtered, the wine remains clear and brilliant. The nose reveals aromas of yellow fruits, vanilla, and white flowers. On the palate, salinity and liveliness echo a wine that gains in volume. A white wine built to age!
