L'histoire du Château Lafite Rothschild remonte au XIVe siècle, lorsque le domaine appartenait à la famille Segur. Le vignoble prit véritablement son essor au XVIIe siècle sous Jacques de Ségur, qui planta les premières vignes. En 1868, le baron James de Rothschild acquit le domaine, et sous sa gestion, le Château Lafite Rothschild devint l'un des premiers crus classés selon le classement officiel de 1855, solidifiant sa réputation mondiale pour ses vins de qualité exceptionnelle.
Le terroir exceptionnel du domaine, avec ses sols graveleux bien drainés, a toujours été reconnu pour sa capacité à produire des vins de grande qualité.
Aujourd'hui, le Château Lafite Rothschild appartient toujours à la famille Rothschild, géré par Saskia de Rothschild, la plus jeune présidente des Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). Le domaine continue de produire certains des vins les plus prestigieux au monde, combinant techniques viticoles traditionnelles et innovations modernes pour maintenir et améliorer la qualité de ses vins. L'accent est mis sur la durabilité et le respect de l'environnement, reflétant une évolution contemporaine tout en honorant l'héritage séculaire du domaine.
Aristocracy in a bottle. Lafite Rothschild is never too demonstrative, it always shines with finesse. With a high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, it develops notes of cedar and black fruits. Keep in the cellar for 15 years at least.
