The Estate

It was during the grape harvest in 1981 that Christophe Ferrari fell in love with the noble profession of winemaker. After completing his studies, he settled in Irancy in the Yonne (Burgundy) as a young winemaker in 1987. From then on, this passion never left him. Without the benefit of a family inheritance, he worked to bring together two small aging estates. Thus, a few months later, the DOMAINE SAINT-GERMAIN was born, a name chosen in honor of the village’s patron saint.

Christophe Ferrari currently cultivates 23 hectares of vineyards in Irancy and Chablis. Concerned with the quality of his wines, Christophe Ferrari has managed to preserve traditional winemaking methods such as aging in oak barrels, while incorporating modern techniques that improve the quality and hygiene of the wine.

At DOMAINE FERRARI, wine quality is a primary concern. Winemaking is carried out with respect for Burgundian tradition (manual harvesting, classic fermentation, aging in oak barrels) combined with the controlled use of some modern techniques aimed at improving wine quality (temperature control of musts during fermentation, vacuum bottling, etc.).

These methods have proven their worth and, even today, they allow the creation of great vintages.

This Pinot Noir might surprise a few, as it could really be mistaken for a Côtes de Nuits. Very silky and elegant, with aromas of red fruits and great concentration. A bargain.
