Considered by many as the greatest winery from the Languedoc, La Grange des Pères really put the region on the map. Laurent Vaillé bought the estate in 1988 after an impressive journey that lead him to work for Coche-Dury, Trévallon, and Gérard Chave. His trademark became great and clean viticulture with high precision in the winery. The barrel agings are quite long (24 months), with 30% of new barrels. In 2021, Laurent Vaillé sadly passed away.
This is a blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. La Grange des Pères red unveils notes of de Provence herbs, sweet spices and blackcurrant. On the palate, this is a total hit, with lots of volume, power, and amazingly long finish.
