Located in Ardèche, specifically in Mauves, the Pierre Gonon estate is a family-owned vineyard covering 10 hectares that produces exclusively under the AOC Saint-Joseph designation. Brothers Pierre and Jean Gonon have elevated the estate to the pinnacle of the appellation through their uncompromising work in the vineyard. They have been certified organic since 2011. The estate prefers the freshness of the grapes over excessive ripeness. The whites can age for 10 years, if not longer. The reds offer a nuanced interpretation of Syrah, never overly demonstrative.
This blend of Roussanne and Marsanne is aged on lees during 11 months. On the nose, honey and orange aromas strike first, then the palate offers a soft creamy texture with a gorgeous bitterness.
